Job summary

The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County seeks a Courtroom Assistant to coordinate courtroom proceedings in a high-volume Criminal Court division. You will perform specialized legal clerical tasks, ensuring smooth operations and timely handling of cases with the Courtroom Clerk and staff.

Responsibilities include prepping e-courtroom equipment, supporting victims and the State, updating the court system in real time, and maintaining orderly court proceedings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of administrative experience in a court/legal setting preferred or equivalent combination.

  • Prepares courtroom for hearings and coordinates actions with Courtroom Clerk.
  • Sets up and operates e-courtroom equipment during hearings and troubleshoots issues.
  • Assists victims and the State during proceedings.
  • Uses iCIS calendar to track presence and gather case information.
  • Prepares files, manages calendar, verifies information and readiness.
  • Supports case processing, scheduling hearings, and recording outcomes in the system.

The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms.
