Greenwood County is seeking a Courthouse Security Officer for a part-time position to protect the courthouse and enforce state and local public-safety laws. The role involves screening visitors and packages, responding to disturbances, and maintaining order in lobbies, courtrooms, and parking areas.
Under supervision, you will perform security checks, open/close the courthouse, transport bank deposits when needed, and assist the public with information.

Part-Time: $20 to $23 and hour (Depends on experience and MUST be certified)
The purpose of this class within the organization is to provide courthouse security; and perform general law enforcement duties to ensure the strict enforcement of state and local laws relating to public safety and welfare. Maintains order and peace within the lobby, courtrooms, offices, and parking lot.
Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Essential Functions:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting twenty pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands, or limbs on a repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines and tools with moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Certified Class I or Class III Officer
SC Basic Law Enforcement Training
SC Driver's license and must be 21 years old
