El Paso County seeks a Courthouse Security Officer to ensure safety for court participants, employees, and the public. The role involves inspections, weapons screening, incident reporting, and coordination with Sheriff's Deputies in a dynamic courthouse environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring surveillance, assisting in emergencies, and providing high quality customer service while adhering to policy, procedures, and safety training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year experience in security.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conducts security inspections of the courthouse and takes appropriate action on observed discrepancies.
• Searches individuals and packages with scanning equipment; detains individuals who may have violated laws.
• Removes weapons and contraband from entrants to the courthouse; monitors cameras and alarms.
• Assists deputies, safeguards lives, and ensures County property is secure.
• Provides first aid and CPR when necessary; responds to emergencies and evacuations as directed.
• Maintains incident reports and daily activity logs; supports in emergency response training.
