Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking a part-time Criminal Justice Specialist within the Judicial Operations Bureau to help maintain a secure courthouse environment and protect staff and the public.

Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, controlling access, screening individuals and property, assisting visitors, and responding to emergencies with composure and professional service. This role requires vigilance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• Credit check required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor video and audio equipment, security gates and electronic doors, fire alarm systems, intercom/public address systems, and light circuit panels.
• Assist in security at entrances and exits by screening persons and items; inspect property trays for prohibited items.
• Monitor and operate X-ray machines to detect contraband entering the courthouse.
• Assist the public and work with fellow members to maintain security.
• Escort custodial staff into restricted areas within the courthouse.
• Log oncoming mail and packages and notify Judicial staff of deliveries.
• Respond to emergencies and initiate emergency procedures as required.
