Job summary

Grease Monkey in Austin is hiring courtesy technicians to support full-service oil changes. No prior experience is required as training is provided, and strong customer service is valued.

You will perform prep work, assist in documenting service information, and help ensure a clean and safe customer experience. Training and supervision will guide you through essential duties and vehicle preparation.

We are expanding and growing our team and Grease Monkey in Austin is looking for individuals with excellent customer service skills and the desire to start a career. Experience is preferred, but not necessary. We will train you.

Position Overview

During the Full-Service Oil Change, the courtesy technician is responsible for the tasks that the customer can most readily see, such as vacuuming, cleaning the windows, and setting the tire pressure. Performing these duties with care and professionalism will create a positive impression on the customer. During the Full-Service Oil Change, the courtesy technician’s duties and responsibilities include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Vehicle Inspectors License a plus!
• Work safely
• Wear safety gear
• Use Echo System
• Place seat cover and floor mat in the vehicle
• Drive vehicle into the bay
• Perform light check
• Prepare vehicle for service:
• Release the hood
• Unlock doors
• Roll up windows
• Remove and secure keys
• Assist in documenting service information — vehicle damage, unusual conditions
• Vacuum the entire interior
• Notify the manager if valuables are found
• Check and set tire pressure
• Clean exterior windows, including mirrors and headlights in bad weather
• Visually inspect wiper blades
• Prepare/affix a static sticker
• Start the vehicle and check the oil pressure
• Reset the oil indicator light, if applicable
• Drive the vehicle out of the bay to the customer pickup area
• Present vehicle to customer
• Thank customers for their business and invite them to return
• Work safely
• Wear safety gear
