Job summary

Rich Smith Management is seeking a licensed law enforcement officer for a part-time Courtesy Officer position at our apartment community in Mabelvale, AR. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for residents and coordinating with local authorities as needed.

Responsibilities include nightly patrols, inspecting common areas, reporting suspicious activity, and providing extra coverage on holidays. Living on-site is included as part of compensation.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed law enforcement officer in the same city or municipality as the property.
• Completion of police academy training or equivalent law enforcement training required.
• Must live on the property (an apartment is included in the compensation package).

• Patrol the community a minimum of two times each night between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., seven nights per week.
• Inspect common areas and amenities, including the clubhouse, pool, and playground.
• Monitor for and report suspicious activity immediately to local authorities and the Community Director.
• Provide extra patrol coverage on holidays (e.g., Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve) or as needed.
• Identify and report areas of poor lighting or malfunctioning security lights.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to enhance property security.
• Submit a weekly written report/log of all notable activity to the Community Director.

Key Responsibilities

The Courtesy Officer will:

• Patrol the community a minimum of two (2) times each night between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., seven nights per week.

• Inspect common areas and amenities, including the clubhouse, pool, and playground.

• Monitor for and report suspicious activity immediately to local authorities and the Community Director.

• Provide extra patrol coverage on holidays (e.g., Fourth of July, New Year's Eve) or as needed.

• Identify and report areas of poor lighting or malfunctioning security lights.

• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to enhance property security.

Important Note: Courtesy Officers are not to apprehend or attempt a citizen's arrest unless it is necessary to protect someone from immediate danger.
