About the Role

The Courtesy Clerk provides excellent customer service at the check stand by bagging groceries quickly and carefully,assistingcustomers with carry-out, and helping themlocateproducts. Courtesy Clerks also collect shopping carts,maintaincleanliness in the store and parking lot, and perform custodial duties to keep facilities safe, clean, andwelcoming forcustomers.

WhatYou’llDo

• Smile and greet all customers and team members while using Vallarta’s six steps of extraordinary service.

• Bag groceries according to Vallarta’s procedures and customer requests.
• Assistcustomers with carry-out service andlocatingproducts in the store.
• Performaccurateprice checks asrequested.
• Check and secure items at the bottom of shopping carts when trained.
• Perform 'go-backs,'promptly returning perishable and non-perishable items to shelves.
• Safely gather shopping carts using reflectivevestandrope.
• Assistwith spills, clean-ups, restroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal (if trained).
• Clean store perimeters, including cart corrals, parking lot, sidewalks, and receivingdock.
• Monitor andreportbuilding maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Keep janitorial room organized and stocked with approved supplies (if trained).
• Alwaysmaintainhigh housekeeping and safety standards.
• Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.
• Abide by all store rules, company policies, and Employee Handbook.
• Report injuries, unsafe conditions, or misconduct to management.
• Performadditionalduties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
• Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally (e.g., dog food bags).
• Heaviest itemrequiredto carry: 40 lbs., up to 40 feet.
• Operate manual pallet jacks safely (buddy systemrequiredfor pallets).
• Work near equipment/machinery and on uneven ground.
• Exposure todust, gas, fumes, temperature, and humidity changes.
