Mackenthun's Fine Foods is hiring Courtesy Clerk evenings and weekends in Minnetrista, MN. You will greet customers, assist with bagging, and support store operations to deliver our Exceptional Experience.

Responsibilities include cart retrieval, stocking check lanes, maintaining a clean cart room, and assisting with store cleaning and sanitation. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 14 years.
• Must be at least 16 years old to work past 7 PM.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team; strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely retrieve carts from the parking lot and maintain cart area.
• Assist customers by bagging groceries and providing service.
• Maintain stock at each check lane and keep areas neat.
• Support customer service with cleaning and sanitation; keep logs updated.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning restrooms, floors and shelves.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

Join our team as a Courtesy Clerk evenings and weekends! Mackenthun's Courtesy Clerks promote our Exceptional Experience to our customers by greeting them and offering assistance in bagging and other duties throughout the store.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently retrieve carts from the parking lot, remove debris and dry carts as needed.

Assist customers who wish to have their groceries bagged, by properly and efficiently provide the service.

Maintain a sufficient stock at each check lane.

Maintain a neat, clean and organized cart room and check lane area.

Assist the customer service team with store cleaning and sanitizing, keeping sanitation logs up to date.

Courtesy Clerks are expected to take initiative in performing routine building maintenance including but not limited to:

• Cleaning restrooms
• Clean rugs
• Shoveling snow
• Cleaning store entrance and exit
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Cleaning shelves and/or display cases as needed
• Properly emptying waste and recycling receptacles
• Facing shelves and stocking product during down time, as needed

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum age: 14 Years Old

Must be at least 16 years old to work past 7 PM, during the school year.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to work independently and as a team, have solid problem-solving skills, and excellent decision making capabilities.

Ability to prioritize with focus on customer service.

Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.

Must express a positive and friendly attitude, focus on customer needs and provide exceptional customer service.

Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.

Must be able to effectively speak, understand and write the English Language.

Must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully.

Physical Demands

Constant standing/walking/seeing/hearing for long periods of time.

Frequent bending at the waist, repetitive motions, reaching arm's length, reaching above shoulders and below the waist, handling, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing up to 75 lbs.

Need to be able to define colors, read at close and distant range, perform repetitive motions.

Training

Training provided on proper and efficient bagging techniques, motorized cart retriever, facility maintenance procedures, personal safety and harassment prevention.

Equipment Used

Ladder and step stools, shovel, broom, mop, vacuum cleaner. (Age restrictions apply.)

Work Environment

Indoors and outdoors, hot and cold temperatures, occasionally in rain or snow.

Smoke-free facility in a team oriented, multifaceted fast paced environment.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
