Responsibilities:
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers, aiming for at least five items per bag without damaging contents.
- Follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
- Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of shopping carts for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
- Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
- Return merchandise to store shelves as needed.
- Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all areas inside and outside the store.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Comply with safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with questions about products.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a respectful and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
