Responsibilities
- Bag groceries at checkout, ensuring contents are not damaged and striving for at least five items per bag.
- Follow best practices for bagging using various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist in removing merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
- Return merchandise to shelves, gather and return bascarts, and clean spills and trash inside and outside the store.
- Handle seasonal merchandise and understand store layout for locating products and conducting price checks.
- Reinforce safety programs, comply with regulations, and report unsafe conditions.
- Practice food safety, inspect equipment, and notify management of repairs.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts appropriately.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
