Responsibilities include:

  • Bagging groceries at checkout, ensuring at least five items per bag without damage.
  • Following best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
  • Assisting in removing merchandise from baskets for checkout.
  • Offering to help customers load bags into their cars.
  • Performing basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.
  • Informing customers of grocery specials and returning merchandise to shelves.
  • Gathering and returning shopping carts to designated areas.
  • Cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot.
  • Cleaning all store areas inside and outside.
  • Handling seasonal merchandise and understanding store layout for product location and price checks.
  • Reinforcing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
  • Following all legal, safety, and company guidelines.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflict calmly and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
