Job description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout for customers.
2. Assist in bagging groceries efficiently, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
3. Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
4. Help in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of bascarts for checkout.
5. Offer to assist customers with loading bags into their cars.
6. Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
8. Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts for return to designated areas.
9. Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all areas inside and outside the store.
10. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise as needed.
11. Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
12. Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
13. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
14. Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
15. Create a welcoming environment by engaging with customers and answering questions about products.
16. Follow all local, state, and federal laws, and company policies.
17. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
18. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
19. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
20. Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving customer and business issues.
21. Support and assist diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
22. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
