Job summary

Allen County is seeking a Court Security Officer under the Civil Division Courts Sergeant to maintain the security of designated buildings by monitoring the conduct of the public and detainees. You will operate entry security systems, document and store seized contraband, enforce laws, and perform bailiff duties, detainee transport, and security for events.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and prior security or law enforcement experience; valid driver's license; ability to qualify

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior law enforcement or security experience in court or government buildings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the conduct of the public and detainees to maintain security of designated buildings.
• Operate Building Entry Security Systems (X-Ray, magnetometer) to control access.
• Document and store seized contraband.
• Enforce federal, state and local laws.
• Provide security for events and transportation of detainees.
• Perform court bailiff duties and clerical security tasks.
