Job summary

The Florida State Courts System is seeking a Court Reporter I to perform advanced stenographic work recording and transcribing verbatim trials or hearings using Eclipse software or equivalent transcription software. The role requires an Associate’s degree or two years of college in related fields, plus two years of related experience; certification as a Registered Professional Reporter is preferred.

Travel is required throughout the six counties of the circuit and will be reimbursed; you will

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two years college in computer operations, medical/legal terminology, court reporting, paralegal, or related field.
• Two years of related experience.
• Certification as a Registered Professional Reporter is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Records court proceedings by stenotype writer to create verbatim transcripts using Eclipse or equivalent software.
• Prepares transcripts including indexing and page numbering, ensuring absolute accuracy.
• Proofreads and prints transcripts for distribution to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• Maintains and archives all records in an organized manner.
• Maintains daily, monthly, and yearly data; travel is required.
