Job summary

Lubbock County seeks a Court Coordinator to perform professional administrative, docket management, and caseflow functions for the assigned court. Under the Judge's direction, you will manage the court's calendar and coordinate hearings, jury and non-jury trials, and related proceedings.

You will liaise with attorneys, litigants, court personnel, and county departments to ensure efficient operation and timely disposition of cases, while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to changing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Government, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates the assigned court's docket and monitors cases from filing or assignment through final disposition.
  • Develops, organizes, and maintains the court's calendars; schedules hearings, conferences, pretrial proceedings, bench and jury trials, and other court proceedings.
  • Maintains accurate court calendars, docket information, case-management records, and related information; communicates notices to parties and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with District Clerk's Office, County Clerk's Office, District Attorney's Office, Sheriff's Office, and other agencies to support court operations.
  • Assists the Judge during hearings, trials, and other proceedings; prepares routine orders, correspondence, and docket materials.
