Join the New Jersey Judiciary as a Court Interpreter, contributing to meaningful work that impacts public lives. Several levels of interpreter positions are available, requiring certification and legal exposure, with responsibilities including interpreting proceedings and translating documents in a hybrid work environment.

Positions will be filled at one of the following levels based on candidate qualifications and available positions:
Salary Information: Newly hired individuals typically start at the minimum of the salary range. Promotions or advancements usually include a 5% salary increase, not exceeding the maximum of the range. Employees hired before June 3, 2014, are Schedule A; those hired on or after are Schedule B.
Remote Work: The Judiciary offers a hybrid schedule, allowing up to 2 days of remote work outside Judiciary buildings, contingent on installing multi-factor authentication and having high-speed internet.
The Passaic Vicinage seeks a Court Interpreter with legal environment exposure and technical competence. Responsibilities include interpreting in all modes (sight, consecutive, simultaneous), translating documents, data entry, participating in training, and working effectively with staff. Regular physical presence at the worksite is required.
Eligibility: Applicants must be approved by the NJ Administrative Office of the Courts, having passed relevant exams or holding Court Interpreter Certification. Prior translation tests are required before translating documents.

Additional Requirements: Valid NJ driver’s license if vehicle operation is necessary, authorization to work in the US, background check including fingerprinting, and residency in NJ for new hires within a year of employment.
