Prisma International, Inc. seeks experienced court interpreters to provide onsite interpreting services to the New Hampshire Judicial Branch.

Independent contractor role based in New Hampshire. Requirements include NH court certification/registration, annual background checks, and at least one year of court interpreting experience; fluency in English and your native language; ATA certification or higher education credential preferred.

Prisma is seeking experienced,?professional Court-Certified and Court-Registered Interpreters to join our team as independent contractors. In this role you will provide ONSITE interpreting (OSI)'services to the New Hampshire Judicial Branch (NHJB).

IN-DEMAND LANGUAGES: SPANISH plus ARABIC, CHINESE (Mandarin), FRENCH, HAITIAN CREOLE, NEPALI, PORTUGUESE, SWAHILI, and VIETNAMESE. If your language is not in this list, you are welcome to apply if you meet all minimum requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Court-Certified or Court-Registered in New Hampshire - you will be asked to provide your credentials.
• Agree to undergo annual criminal history and/or state registry background checks
• Strong understanding of NHJB procedures, e.g. precise documentation of services provided for each session
• At least one (1) year of onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience in a legal/courts setting
• Two (2) professional references who can confirm your profession as an onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreter
• Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older?
• Minimum education: Must have High School Diploma
• Full fluency in English and your native language
• Able to provide at least one of the following accreditations:
• American Translation Association (ATA)
• Trained or accredited through a higher education institution
Ideal Candidates shall be able to provide:
• Experience with consecutive or simultaneous onsite (in person) interpretation between a courts representative and non-English speakers
• Polite forms of expression, enunciation, and a high-level of customer service.
• Deliver correct concepts and meanings between speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) speaker.
• Correct grammar, clarity and tones between English and your native language.
• Experience with following the speakers? direction, professionally interject when clarification is needed, and manage the flow of a conversation.?
• Refrain from side conversations with the LEP and entering into any disagreement with the customer or LEP
• Compliance with applicable ethics and standards
