City of Lincoln / Lancaster County is seeking a Security Guard (County) for the County Sheriff department. Hours: FULL TIME, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. You will monitor entrances, screen individuals and items, and apply Nebraska law in detentions and responses.

Responsibilities include building security inspections, assisting the public, and providing first-aid and emergency support. A high school diploma and related law enforcement knowledge are preferred with required clearances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with some law enforcement experience.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and statutes for law enforcement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use tact and exercise minimal force when needed.

Responsabilités

• Monitor entrances and conduct screenings of persons, items and packages using approved security practices.
• Detain or arrest individuals as provided by Nebraska law and process accordingly.
• Perform building inspections to maintain facility security.
• Provide information and assist the public within the Justice Center.
• Render first-aid and summon medical personnel when appropriate; respond to emergencies.
• Assist in prisoner transport and courtroom security as assigned.
