The City of Spokane is seeking individuals for clerical and cash handling support across Municipal Court, Prosecutor, or Public Defender offices. Duties include answering inquiries, entering citations, scheduling hearings, processing payments, and maintaining case records in multiple systems.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of direct customer service experience with cash handling or clerical support in a court/criminal justice setting.
Performs a variety of specialized clerical and/or cash handling duties in support of the operations and services of Spokane Municipal Court, Prosecutor or Public Defender offices.
Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area (such as clerical or cash handling) within Municipal Court, Prosecutor or Public Defender offices, which may include, but is not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
Applicants must first meet the minimum qualifications to be invited to take the examination. Those who pass the examination will then go on the hiring list.
The examination will consist of multiple-choice questions.
This is an online examination that will require a computer. If you do not have access to a computer, please notify Civil Service so that one may be provided.Computer reservations can also be made through your local public library.
Examination instructions and links will be emailed to qualified applicants on October 7th, 2026. The testing window is October 8th – 12th.
