A leading company in freight and package transportation is seeking a Courier/Swing Driver with responsibilities including efficient delivery and pickup of packages and maintaining safety standards. Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. Performs related customer service functions and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED.
Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Must demonstrate area knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Ability to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver packages of any weight with appropriate equipment or assistance. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of the station's service area preferred. Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and courier skills. Must be at least 21 years old. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to inquiries and directions per FMCSA guidelines.
Job Conditions: Neat appearance required due to customer contact. Must meet qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations and pass a medical exam per FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
