SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Supervisor, Couriers- Pharmacy, the Courier, Pharmacy is responsible for the delivery of pharmacy medications and/or products as assigned. The Courier acts as a liaison between the pharmacy team and patients by delivering medications to their homes, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency. The role requires delivering exceptional customer service and positively impacting lives through accurate and efficient pharmacy deliveries.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

• Fulfill courier needs between Signature Health locations as scheduled by your Supervisor.
• Ensure timely, cautious, and accurate transport of all required deliveries in an efficient and courteous manner.
• Handle all movement of pharmacy items carefully, avoiding exposure to temperature extremes.
• Communicate professionally with patients and caregivers, providing updates and delivering medications directly to recipients.
• Follow all policies and procedures for medication handling, storage, safety, security, and privacy, including HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date training on safety and security guidelines for pharmaceutical handling.
• Maintain high performance in quality, patient experience, and availability.
• Read maps and follow directions efficiently, complying with traffic and safety laws.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid unencumbered Ohio driver's license and proof of insurance required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Preferred: 1+ years' experience in transporting biological, sensitive, or important items.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Typically performed in an office/clinical environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Involves periods of sitting, standing, and physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• Requires good hearing, speaking, vision, and dexterity to operate equipment and communicate effectively.
