Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Courier to provide efficient, safe, and courteous service across hospital facilities and affiliated clients. The courier will move mail, specimens, supplies, and equipment between the hospital, Concord Center warehouse, and affiliates, while maintaining schedules and adhering to department policies.

The role requires a NH driver’s license, ability to lift and transport items, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Certified copy of DMV driving record meeting HR and MVR guidelines.
• If using personal vehicle, proof of insurance coverage as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule and route.
• Transports mail, reports, cash bags, films, specimens, linens, biohazard waste, supplies, equipment, furniture and other items to and from various locations and obtain documentation/signatures.
• Cross trains on all courier routes for coverage.
• Support department goals and meet customer needs; solicit feedback and relay to supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures for vehicle use and moving equipment.
• Prioritize and process work efficiently and accurately.

Summary

The Courier reports to the Courier Manager and is responsible for providing efficient, safe and courteous service for Concord Hospital, Capital Region Health Care and affiliated clients. Working in conjunction with Receiving/Distribution, General Stores, Purchasing, mail and Copy Services, the Courier Department adheres to strict schedules to ensure timely pick up, delivery and transfer of products, specimens, correspondence and stat request service to all customers. They are also responsible for the movement of equipment and furniture between the hospital, Concord Center warehouse and affiliates as well as organized management of said warehouse.

Education

High school or equivalent (GED).

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Licensure required: Valid New Hampshire Driver's license. Certified copy of DMV driving record that qualifies standards set by Human Resources and MVR Rating Guidelines. If personal vehicle is to be used for official business, employee must provide proof of insurance coverage which complies with organization and Concord Hospital Driving Policy.

• Follows policies and procedures for safe and proper use of vehicles, moving equipment and tools.

• Demonstrates competency performing role, utilizing available references, tools.
• Mobile delivery system, and equipment, to ensure quality results while following department policies and procedures.
• Conducts daily inspection of vehicle at start of each day and operates hospital vehicles in safe manner at all times.
• Maintains the inside of vehicle and reports any damage or mechanical problems to courier manager.
• Supports all efforts related to DNV / ISO Certification on nonconforming product.
