Overview

Couriers provide transportation support within the Huntsville Hospital system and the Health Group of Alabama. Responsibilities include pick-up and delivery of lab specimens, supplies, reports, and mail. Additional duties involve transporting patients and employees, greeting customers (including valet services), moving departments, assisting with monthly fire extinguisher checks, and conducting hazardous surveillance checks. The courier must perform these tasks accurately and promptly, document all pick-ups, and maintain precise records at all times.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Preferably one year in courier, transportation, or moving services, ideally in healthcare. Must demonstrate responsibility, courtesy, and reliability. Valid driver’s license and insurability by HH standards are required. Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement is a plus.
• Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow oral and written instructions, and pay close attention to detail.
