Description

Provides Courier and Administrative support to the Passport Services Division (PSD) located at Fort Belvoir. Courier services are provided throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). This position requires a current or interim SECRET clearance.


Courier Services: As a courier, you will be responsible for the secure transportation and timely delivery of highly sensitive visa application packets to and from various embassies within the National Capital Region (NCR). Utilizing government-provided transportation, you will navigate the city while ensuring the safety and confidentiality of these critical documents. Your duties will also include accurately and efficiently processing passport and visa applications, preparing detailed manifests for each embassy delivery, and meticulously tracking all packets within the Visa Passport Automated System (VPAS). You will play a crucial role in managing rejected applications, coordinating necessary corrective actions, and ensuring the smooth return of processed visas to the Passport Services Division. Furthermore, you will cultivate and maintain professional relationships with embassy officials, effectively coordinate delivery schedules, and proactively resolve any logistical challenges that may arise during the courier process.


Administrative Support: Performs various clerical and repetitive manual functions at the front desk, mail room, passport application processing, visa application processing, and customer support. Supports the Passport Services Division (PSD) mission by searching, sorting, filing, and other miscellaneous administrative functions as necessary. Provides customer service support to DoD passport agents worldwide.


Salary up to: $28.00 per hour ($58,240.00 annually)

REQUIRED:



  • One (1) year of general work experience.

  • Basic personal computer skills.

  • Basic understanding of postal regulations.

  • Good hand to eye coordination.

  • Capable of doing repetitive tasks such as: lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading.

  • Data entry ability.

  • Ability to work in one place and transverse the office on a continuing basis.

  • Ability to transport 30 lbs.

  • U.S. Citizen.


PREFERRED:



  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office environment.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an environment involving PC hardware and software, including LANs and WANs.
