Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, hires married couples as Full‑time Flex Houseparents who live in on‑campus student homes and supervise a group of about 8–13 students, guiding their academic, emotional, and social development in a family‑like setting.

Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring daily, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and handling budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
