Job summary

Milton Hershey School on-campus is seeking a committed couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. You will reside in student homes, providing supervision, guidance, and support to a group of 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

Position begins with nine days on duty followed by three days off; later transition to a Placed Houseparent in a stable student home. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, relocation support, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couples must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
