Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, providing care and guidance for 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

Roles begin with nine days on duty, then three days off, with a future transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Applicants must be a legally married couple, both 27+, with HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
