Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents, a unique two-person role for legally married couples. You live on campus with 8–13 students, provide supervision, mentorship, and organize activities to support academic, emotional, and social growth.

Couples work nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with formal transition to a placed houseparent after initial period. Benefits include housing, meals, and more.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples (two-year marriage minimum).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver�s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
