Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8-13 students living in the home.

Flex Houseparents follow a nine consecutive days on duty, then three days off schedule, with opportunities to transition to a Placed Houseparent role. Competitive benefits include housing, meals, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-year married couple minimum relationship required.
• Spouses 27+ years old and legal for two years.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan development/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany Sunday Chapel services.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
