Job summary

County of Dodge in Wisconsin seeks a County Surveyor to manage PLSS re-establishment, maintain monument records, and oversee subdivision plats and ALTA surveys. The role combines fieldwork and office duties with strong GIS integration using Autodesk Civil 3D.

Required are a Bachelor’s in Planning or related field and the Wisconsin PLS license within one year. Knowledge of boundary law and state statutes is essential for accurate land surveying and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or better in Planning or related field.
• Must obtain Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor license within one year.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience in ESRI GIS software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers PLSS re-establishment, maintenance, and monument records.
• Maintains records and maps of surveys including plats and ALTA surveys.
• Reviews surveys for compliance with laws and coordinates with GIS.
• Provides surveying services for county purposes and expert testimony when required.
• Keeps informed of regulations and assists other department staff.
