DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will assist clients and families with a wide-range of activities of daily living such as family budgeting, housekeeping standards, personal health and hygiene, nutrition, food preparation and storage, care of clothing, and use of resources. You will collaborate with casework staff to coordinate and schedule appointments, as well as provide transportation for clients to medical and dental appointments and other necessary appointments and services. You will be responsible for providing support and supervision during appointments, visits, and activities. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is essential in this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, up to 20 hours/week.
  • Work schedule to be determined.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school;or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
