Job description

Carbon County Children & Youth Services is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and motivated person to join our team as a County Social Services Aide 1. In this position, you will perform routine public contact work to help caseworkers with managing their caseload. This includes assisting with the supervision of visitations, completing documentation in case the management system, and attending meetings and interviews with consumers. You will be responsible for a written report of each appointment with consumers; participating in meetings with other staff to develop treatment plans and set goals for consumers; attending court and testify, if needed; and completing clerical office duties as needed.

You will also assist families with activities of daily living including but not limited to home maintenance and care, in-home parenting education, proper hygiene, nutrition, cooking and food shopping skills, and maintenance of the home. This work may also include transporting consumers to supervised visitation and necessary appointments, providing childcare when necessary, and helping consumers complete applications or other forms. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May require after hours work.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
