Job summary

Kanabec County seeks an Assistant County Attorney to represent the State and the County in criminal and civil matters, under the direction of the County Attorney. Qualifications

• Must hold active attorney licensure and maintain legal knowledge across state and federal law.
• Ability to research, draft, advise, and advocate across a broad range of criminal and civil matters.
• Experience with court trials, hearings, negotiations and appellate work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal, juvenile and related cases and provide training to law enforcement.
• Advise county departments on legal matters including child protection, welfare, and civil commitments.
• Represent the county in district court trials, appeals, and other hearings; prepare and present cases.
