Job summary

Redwood County, MN is seeking a proactive County Administrator to serve as the chief administrative officer, guiding operations across departments, budgeting, HR and risk management, and program development in alignment with the Board of County Commissioners.

The administrator will lead the executive team, advise department heads, and ensure compliance with laws while communicating with the public and the Board. Strong leadership and strategic planning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, regional planning, business administration or related area.
• Additional accounting coursework preferred.
• At least four years of recent, progressive public or business administration experience.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, budgeting, supervising, staffing, and evaluation of programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Directs, organizes, plans and coordinates the financial operations of the county, including budget preparation and fiscal policy.
• Reviews departmental budgets and monitors expenditures for compliance with approved budgets.
• Manages capital expenditure planning and county infrastructure needs with stakeholders.
• Administers State and Federal grant programs in coordination with departments.
• Oversees the bid process and ensures complete, legal records.
