The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, Abbott Rapid Diagnostics are recruiting a Country Manager UK & Ireland to support the Cardiometabolic business as part of the Southwest Europe region.

What You’ll Do

As a Country Manager UK & Ireland you will develop & lead the execution of strategy in the Cardiometabolic Rapid Diagnostics business unit.

The role is mainly field-based with 50% travelling requirement across the region and in European countries. Presence in Abbott’s UK headquarters in Maidenhead for business meetings would be frequent.

More specifically:

  • Manage Third Party Distributors and relevant external agencies in the execution of the sales and business development strategy.
  • Deliver short- & long-term volume, sales, profit & market share goals by developing and delivering Organisational Excellence within our UK/Ireland Commercial organization.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient co-ordination and administration of all business operations.
  • Develop a high-performance team with strength-in-depth ensuring succession planning where appropriate for all key positions/skill sets.
  • Effectively manage all UK/Ireland’s sales efforts in support of our business goals.
  • Identify potential targets for strategic partnerships/alliances.
  • Take ownership and manage the country P&L, highlighting risks and opportunities, and balancing product forecast in line with financial reviews.

Required Qualifications/Profile

  • Experience in progressively senior commercial roles in medical device or diagnostics in the U.K.
  • Previous experience in front line sales management.
  • Business or Science degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK and Ireland healthcare systems and larger ecosystems.
  • Established network with KOLs and a strong ability to influence at a senior stakeholder level.
  • Track record as an effective people manager and leader.
  • Deep understanding of organisational development related to market structure and needs.
  • Able to travel up to 60% of their time. Occasional travel to other European countries.
