Job description

Centered in the heart of Johns Creek, Georgia, St Ives Country Club has maintained a standard of private club excellence since 1989. We are seeking a Floor Manager for our Ascott Restaurant located on the main level of our clubhouse. The Ascott Floor Manager is a salaried exempt role that reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Director.

The Ascott Floor Manager oversees all aspects of St Ives Country Club’s Ascott Restaurant, ensuring the highest quality standards. The Floor Manager is expected to be a leader of the F&B team while on the restaurant floor, with a strong visible presence and a primary focus on training and developing staff. The manager will assist in designing and executing high-class service programs, as well as excellent social events and experiences. The Floor Manager will spend much of their time interacting with members and guests, making recommendations, and building professional and personal connections. This management position will be one of the key faces of Food and Beverage Leadership at St Ives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Establish and maintain a welcoming, professional relationship with all members and employees.
  2. Assist in creating and managing F&B staff schedules.
  3. Train, mentor, and evaluate all front-of-house F&B staff.
  4. Receive and appropriately resolve complaints concerning food, beverage, and service.
  5. Serve as a liaison between the dining room staff and the kitchen staff.
  6. Maintain open lines of communication with culinary staff and all food outlets.
  7. Ensure that side work is completed at the beginning and end of each shift.
  8. Conduct pre-shift meetings for lunch and dinner service.
  9. Make suggestions for improving service, hours of operation, menus, etc.
  10. Attend scheduled Banquet Event Order (BEO) staff meetings.
  11. Have a strong working knowledge of all menus and beverage programs.
  12. Handle daily Food & Beverage operations in assigned dining outlets.
  13. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements regarding F&B operations, including timely license applications and maintaining liquor licenses.
  14. Conduct ongoing training to uphold professional standards.
  15. Oversee implementation of policies and procedures for F&B staff.
  16. Interact daily with members and guests to ensure satisfaction, addressing questions, problems, and overseeing service and cleanliness.
  17. Improve member and guest satisfaction and loyalty through professional and courteous service.
  18. Carry out instructions from the Assistant F&B Director promptly.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate during club hours: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., including weekends, holidays, and special events (closed Mondays).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Honesty, integrity, professionalism; at least two years of FOH experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Private club experience preferred.
  • Previous management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform job duties physically with good eyesight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected).
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Current Johns Creek Pouring Permit (must be obtained during onboarding if not already held).
  • TIPS Alcohol Certification (application provided upon employment).
  • Knowledge of NorthStar Systems & POS or similar systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and their proper service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Professionalism, strong work ethic, adaptability, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and events.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and perform opening/closing duties.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service and exceeding member expectations.
