Job summary

United Refrigeration, Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service/Counter Associate to greet customers, answer calls, and assist with orders in a fast-paced environment.

You will use a computer for invoicing, returns, and stock replenishment, load/unload vehicles, and maintain stock and vendor catalogs. Overtime and Saturdays may be required depending on location and season.

Qualifications

• Greet customers promptly and courteously by name (if known).
• Answer telephones promptly identifying yourself and the company.
• Provide professional and knowledgeable assistance to customers.
• Provide accurate and timely execution of customer orders, requests and other services.
• Enhance customer orders by upselling; suggest other products not requested.
• Use computer to perform invoicing, credits, returns, and stock replenishment.
• Load and unload vehicles using proper equipment.
• Break down and put away stock.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Participate in After Hours Emergency Call rotation to assist customers when the branch is closed.
• Follow-through/follow-up on promises and commitments.
• Deliveries as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; manage waste, cleanliness.
• Maintain vendor catalogs, cross-references, price sheets, literature and MSDS sheets.
• Perform related jobs as required.

Qualifications

Physical Demands

• Requires moving, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds
• Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching and ability to climb ladders
• Requires exposure to chemicals and solvents
• Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to cross-reference and recommend substitute products
• Ability to get along with customers and other employees, follow directions and work under pressure

Equipment

• Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, photocopier and so on

Education/Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration
• Learn and understand United’s product offering as well as rest of industry
• Attend product seminars provided “in-house” and trade education groups (RSES, ACCA, ARW, etc.) and vendors.

Work Conditions

• Overtime required during off-season and mandatory during season and inventory
• Saturdays as required by location and season.
