Job summary

Stuart Hose & Pipe, a SunSource company, seeks an experienced Counter Sales Associate for the Midland branch. You will oversee counter sales and warehouse operations, handling inventory, shipping/receiving, and staff mentoring in a fast-paced team.

Essential duties include processing counter orders, assisting customers, checking material availability via ERP, issuing RFQs, and coordinating purchase and transfer orders.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Requires Hose and Fittings product knowledge; basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure; lifting heavy items; operate warehouse machinery.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Counter Sales Associate for our Stuart Hose & Pipe – Midland branch. The successful candidate is responsible for oversight of all aspects of counter sales and warehouse operations; including inventory, product handling shipping/receiving and personnel management in a friendly, fast-paced team environment.

Essential Functions:

• Primarily responsible for processing orders received from counter customers
• Assist customers with needed items, interacting extensively to clarify their needs, research and recommend parts
• Utilize the ERP to determine material availability and establish lead times for customer orders
• Process request for quotes/“RFQ” received from current or potential customers
• Create, issue and process purchase orders and transfer orders as required to fulfill customer orders
• Train/Mentor potential and new Counter Sales employees
• Maintain an advanced knowledge of the products and services offered by Stuart Hose & Pipe Co. and its supplier partners
• Assist Management as needed
• Miscellaneous tasks assigned

Experience, Education and Skills:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Hose and Fittings product knowledge required. Basic mathematical skills required. Ability to read a tape measure preferred. Ability to adapt to and work in a variety of situations to support the company’s goals. Must be comfortable lifting heavy items and using warehouse machinery.
• Communication: Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
