Job summary

Loeb Electric is seeking a Counter Sales Specialist in Hilliard, OH to provide expert product knowledge and exceptional customer service in our branch store. This role involves in-person and phone sales, processing orders, promoting products, and assisting with returns and transfers to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will engage with customers, suggest best-fit solutions, and support the full sales lifecycle from entry to delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years retail or customer sales experience.
• Experience working with electrical and/or lighting products.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally to other Columbus area branch locations to fill in as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers (in person or over the phone) during the sales process in an effective and efficient manner that encourages return business.
• Conducts sales transactions at the Counter or over the phone by entering the customer orders into the system.
• Demonstrates product knowledge and provides information about promotions.
• Suggests replacement/alternative products when appropriate.
• Follows-up with customers on credit issues, merchandise being held and/or transfers from other branch stores to complete customer orders.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the entire sales process from start to finish including order entry, billing, delivery, and payment processing.
• Completes special orders, product stock requests and expedited purchase orders as needed.
• Processes product returns ensuring that all documentation is collected and accurately entered into the system, returns all product back to the appropriate location.
• Ensures positive shopping experience for our customers by cleaning the shelves, restocking, and labeling as needed.
• Maintains awareness of market, competition, and economic conditions that may affect the business and shares feedback with Store Manager.
• Maintains store standards for safety and cleaning protocols as well as all policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates positive professional working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Maintains the highest level of professionalism.
• Performs other duties and projects assigned.

The Counter Sales Specialist is responsible for being the product expert and delivering customer service that exceeds our customers' expectations. Our Counter Sales Specialists are solution-oriented by asking questions of our customers to determine their needs as well as offering and educating our customers about new product features and benefits. Experience

Essential Job Functions

• Lifting/Carrying: Regularly required to lift, carry, and move products, parts, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75-100 pounds with assistance or material handling equipment.
• Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing and/or sitting at the sales counter and walking throughout the store/warehouse to assist customers, locate products, or pull orders.
• Climbing/Balance: Occasional climbing step stools to access products stored on shelving or racking systems.
• Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to retrieve items from lower shelving and storage areas.
• Reaching/Handling: Regular reaching, grasping, and handling of products, tools, and point-of-sale equipment; manual dexterity required for operating a computer, cash register, or handheld scanner.
• Vision: Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to read labels, product codes, and computer screens.
• Hearing/Speaking: Ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries, communicate clearly in person and over the phone, and understand verbal instructions in a retail/warehouse environment.
• Environmental Conditions: Work performed in a showroom/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and moving equipment.
• PPE Use: Must be able to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) as required in warehouse areas.
