Airgas USA, LLC in Waipahu, HI is hiring a Counter Sales Representative w/ VMI. You will welcome customers, identify needs, process sales and payments, and coordinate timely replenishment of merchandise in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role offers a 22–29 USD per hour wage with bonus opportunities, Monday–Friday schedule, and Airgas benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and 401(k).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; five years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, customer service, and/or inventory control is ideal.
  • Excellent customer service and multitasking abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and assists walk-in and telephone customers, helping them identify product needs and locate merchandise.
  • Accurately completes and files paperwork documenting sales, quotes, and other information.
  • Enters sales data into the computer and processes payments for merchandise or services.
  • Organizes and restocks store merchandise and maintains showroom cleanliness and presentation.
  • Coordinates delivery and replenishment of industrial products and storeroom items for daily operations.
  • Monitors branch inventory levels and supports timely reorders.

Responsibilities
  • Welcomes and assists walk-in and telephone call-in customers, partnering with them to identify their specific product needs and locate merchandise.
  • Accurately completes and files all required paperwork on a timely basis to document sales, quotes, or other important information.
  • Enters sales & quote data into the computer system, using effective research skills to find the right information for customers.
  • Processes customer payments for merchandise or services sold and efficiently enters the sales data into the computer.
  • Organizes and restocks store merchandise as needed, beautifully arranging stock on shelves or racks to keep the sales area perfectly in order, as well as marking or ticketing items.
  • Maintains showroom cleanliness and presentation by following procedures set forth by management.
  • Coordinates the delivery and replenishment of various industrial products, vending machines, or storeroom items to support our customers' daily operations.
  • Monitors and maintains dedicated branch inventory levels for proper replenishment.
  • Tracks and turns in delivery tickets and consignment fill tickets to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Delivers and replenishes various industrial products, vending machines, or storeroom items directly to customers, ensuring they always have what they need.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and light repairs on mechanical vending systems as needed to support our clients.
  • Reviews and coordinates manual stock levels of various inventories across multiple plant departments for timely reorders.
  • Maintains dedicated branch inventory levels to ensure seamless, proper replenishment.
  • Regularly required to move up to 60 pounds and transport up to 125 pounds, with material handling equipment provided to assist you.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or the equivalent; ideally, you bring five years of related experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience that has prepared you for this role.
  • Ideally, you bring two to five years of experience in an industrial retail, inside sales, customer service, and/or inventory control related environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated safe driving skills and a valid driver's license from the state of residence.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • We will run a Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Commitment to operating in a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
  • We value intermediate skills in the Google Platform.
  • At least one year of familiarity with arc and gas welding.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating a dynamic flow of paperwork accurately and on time, often with self-directed initiative.
  • Ability to build alignment and communicate clearly by phone, email, or in person with customers and the broader branch team.
  • Flexibility to contribute occasional overtime when supporting deliveries or colleagues in the branch.
  • Exposure to industrial elements (noise, vibrations, equipment) is part of our daily landscape.
  • You will work around moving machinery on varying layouts where safety is our shared priority.
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
  • We value intermediate skills in the Google Platform.
