Counter Sales Representative – Mayer Team, Tampa, FL
The Counter Sales Representative provides immediate service and product knowledge for customers. The role involves assisting customers promptly and courteously with purchases, processing orders, and returns while collaborating closely with the branch team on receiving, shipping, and stocking.
What You’ll Do
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and processing of orders or returns.
- Assist in driving electrical distribution sales for the counter business and developing new and existing customer relationships.
- Assist with daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping the showroom and counter clean and organized.
- Assist with warehouse functions as needed, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product information.
- Support inside sales as needed.
- Inform the manager of any potentially hazardous or elevated situation related to safety or customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need
- 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred.
- Previous branch experience preferred.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities (preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or similar sales environments (preferred).
- Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software (preferred).
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to type on a computer keyboard.
- Positive attitude.
- Desire to improve electrical product knowledge.
