Job summary

Airgas is hiring for a Counter Sales Representative in San Francisco, CA. Base pay ranges from $26 to $28.50 per hour (DOE). Flexible, weekday schedule with no weekend work. The role includes customer service, order processing, and showroom support.

Responsibilities include handling paperwork, pricing, tool selection with customers, and coordination with colleagues to meet delivery deadlines. Prior experience in sales or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Attention to detail in handling transactions.
• Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships.
• Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrate equipment use to build customer confidence.
• Manage order entry and process transactions; assist the team with the reconciliation of deposits.
• Coordinate via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
• Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.
• Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.

• Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
