Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to act as a sales associate in the retail shop. You will sell industrial gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to businesses and industrial customers, handle sales paperwork, and provide expert guidance.

You will help maintain a neat showroom, assist customers with merchandise and cylinder loading, and cultivate strong customer relationships while coordinating costs, ordering, and delivery

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service or sales.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with order entry systems.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical thinking to assess customer situations and provide solutions.
• Cash handling experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Proactively sell industrial gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to existing and potential customers.
• Handle all sales-related paperwork, including documenting sales, quotes, and customer details.
• Provide insightful answers to customer inquiries and offer expert guidance on equipment and procedures.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly showroom.
• Assist customers with merchandise and loading/unloading of cylinders.
• Cultivate and nurture positive customer relations.
• Communicate effectively in person and by phone about costs, ordering, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor customer needs and collaboratively manage hardgoods and cylinder levels to reduce emergency deliveries.

The Counter Sales Representative will act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers.

• Provide insightful answers to customer inquiries and offer expert guidance on suitable equipment and procedures.

• Assist customers with merchandise and facilitate the loading and unloading of cylinders.

• Communicate effectively in-person and over the phone to offer information on costs, ordering, and delivery schedules.
