Job summary

Capital Electric in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Counter Sales Associate to sell electrical materials, assist customers with product selection and build lasting relationships. You will greet walk‑in customers, handle calls, prepare sales tickets, and support warehouse activities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong math and communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Competitive hourly pay with commission potential.

Qualifications

• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge preferred; training available for the right candidate.
• Strong mathematics, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day.

About the Role

We are looking for a Counter Sales Associate at our Chestertown, MD location. The associate will sell product to customers, assist with product selection, and develop customer relationships to ensure Capital Electric remains the Electrical Distributor of Choice.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming customer phone calls
• Greet walk‑in customers
• Assist customer with order and provide appropriate product selection
• Pick customer order from warehouse and bring to counter
• Prepare customer sales ticket and charge accordingly
• Promote and sell company’s product promotions
• Provide assistance to certain warehouse functions
• Reach monthly goals in sales and gross margin
• Maintain courtesy and politeness toward customers
• Multi‑task and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge preferred; training available for the right candidate
• Strong mathematics, verbal and written communication skills
• Computer and MS Office literate
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, up to 70 lbs occasionally
• Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic

Salary: $18 - $25 per hour with commission potential.
