Airgas is hiring a Counter Sales Associate/Backup CDL Driver in Monroe, NC.

Schedule & Benefits Eligibility

• Monday - Friday, start time 7 am - Home Daily

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment; soliciting sales from new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins; providing guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Operations & Logistics: Managing loading/unloading of cylinders, operating forklifts, serving as backup driver when necessary.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent supply emergencies.
• Administrative & Financial: Managing accounts receivable, discussing past‑due accounts, collecting payments; ensuring accurate paperwork, coding, costing, and pricing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Driver’s License
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card
• Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• Minimum 21 years old
• At least one year of Class A professional driving experience within last five years
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers
• Ability to lift/move 25‑75 lbs routinely, occasionally 76+ lbs
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
• Drug‑free workplace commitment
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies
• Flexible to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift experience
• Touch freight delivery experience
