R10065340 Counter Sales / Back-up Delivery Driver (Class B) (Open)

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL - Filling industrial

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Counter Sales position sells medical, industrial, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and hard goods and tools to customers. This position responds to inquiries or concerns from walk-in customers or those calling in. Based on order activity, will drive up to a 20-ton truck loaded with compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hard goods for delivery to customers on scheduled or unscheduled routes.

1. Solicits sales from walk-in and telephone call-in customers, assisting with product identification and merchandise location.
2. Accurately completes and files all required paperwork timely, documenting sales, quotes, or other information.
3. Enters sales & quotes data into the computer and researches customer information using the system.
4. Receives payment for merchandise or services, enters sales into the computer, and handles payments adhering to administrative procedures. Assists customers with loading merchandise.
5. Provides warehouse support including shipping & receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, and restocking merchandise.
6. Follows all safety procedures, especially for cylinder handling and storage.
7. Maintains showroom cleanliness and keeps product literature current.
8. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities include safely loading, delivering, and unloading orders, performing vehicle inspections, and ensuring safety compliance.

Pay: $26-28 per hour

Are you a MATCH?

Requirements include a HS Diploma or equivalent, with preferred qualifications of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience, knowledge of gas and welding industry, SAP experience, welding knowledge, forklift operation, Class A or B CDL, and HAZMAT endorsement. Driving experience and physical ability to handle up to 60 pounds are also required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent customer service, independent work capability, effective communication, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and operation of forklifts.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Includes extended stationary periods, physical movement, and handling up to 60 pounds, with work primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions.
