Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. in Terre Haute, IN is seeking a Counter Sales Associate / Back-up Driver. You will handle customer service tasks, process telephone orders, and assist customers at the counter while supporting warehouse operations.

You will promote products, maintain customer records, and assist the Outside Sales team. The role requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals with strong service skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of customer service, inside sales, or counter sales experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Must not have a DUI/DWI or other alcohol-related driving conviction within the last ten years.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer service activities including taking telephone orders, answering questions, resolving issues, and tracing order status or shipments.
• Serve customers through counter sales in the retail store.
• Perform warehouse duties including moving cylinders for customers.
• Provide sales support to the Outside Sales team.
• Evaluate and recommend products, equipment, and programs to customers.
• Promote add-on sales of gases and high-margin accessories and demonstrate products in-store.
• Maintain accurate customer records and pricing; ensure proper account setup.
• Make outbound calls to retail and small 'B' customers.
• Sell products at minimum discount to achieve target margins and assist other locations as needed.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will perform customer service activities, including receiving and entering telephone orders, answering questions, resolving challenges, and tracing order status or product shipments
• Serve customers through counter sales in the retail store
• Conduct warehouse duties, including moving cylinders for customers
• Provide sales support to the Outside Sales team
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate products, equipment, and programs
• You will promote add-on sales of gases and high-margin hard goods accessories and conduct product demonstrations as an in-store sales representative
• Maintain customer records and files, ensuring accurate account setup and pricing
• Perform outbound calls to retail and small 'B' customers
• You will sell products at minimum discount to achieve target margins and occasionally support additional locations
  

What Makes You Great

• You have a high school diploma / GED
• More than one (1) year(s) of customer service, inside sales, or counter sales experience is preferred
• You should have excellent customer service skills to be successful in this role
• Must not have a DUI/DWI or other alcohol-related driving conviction within the last ten (10) years.
