Job summary

VAMAC Inc. seeks a Counter Sales Associate in Fredericksburg, VA to deliver exceptional customer service at the counter and over the phone. You will process orders, enter data accurately, and work with the team to grow sales and ensure smooth branch operations.

The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with a starting pay of $20 per hour plus performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Prior industry experience is helpful but not required.

Job Title: Counter Sales Associate

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Day Shift, Full Time)

Pay Rate: $20.00 Hourly (Minimum Starting Rate) + Performance Incentives

A Day in the Life of a Counter Sales Associate:

• Providing exceptional service to customers at the counter and over the phone through accurate order entry
• Increasing sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional as well as new products
• Working cooperatively with other team members, such as coordinating deliveries with drivers, pulling customer orders, helping replenish inventory and pulling transfers in the warehouse, and other branch operations as needed
• Following ethical standards and complying with company policies that ensure as safe, friendly, and team-oriented family culture

Required Skills:

• Computer literacy. Ability to use Microsoft Office, as well as proficiency in order entry processes using our Epicor Solar Eclipse system, VAMAC's intranet, or other systems as applicable
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms (i.e. in-person, phone, email, etc.)
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team; ability to multitask
• Ability to stand and walk for long duration, as well as lift up to 100 pounds
• 1+ years experience within the industry is preferred (sales, plumbing, order entry)

Preferred Skills:

• Industry related experience
• Previous experience using an RF Gun
• Current forklift certification, where required
