ReDiscover is seeking a Counselor Technician to join our Clustered Apartment Program (CAP).

WHAT WE DO

Our CAP Program provides intensive supportive housing for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Clients receive necessary on-site services in a clustered apartment setting due to challenges in traditional community settings or ongoing risks requiring long-term psychiatric hospitalization.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring clients in a safe environment, performing and documenting safety rounds, including ADL monitoring and coaching (life skills, communication, community integration, etc.).
  • Facilitating structured activities aligned with clients’ goals and treatment plans.
  • Respecting cultural differences and demonstrating appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication with clients, guests, and staff.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the program space.
  • Safeguarding Protected Health Information, maintaining confidentiality, and managing documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, including requesting and releasing client records as needed.

Prerequisites before starting:

  • Availability to work part-time (24 hours/week), Saturdays and Sundays from 2PM-10:30PM.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid automobile operator’s license with appropriate insurance, compliant with Missouri or Kansas law.
  • Knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery-oriented approach.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including typing, Microsoft Word and Excel, and GSuite.
