Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California ARC is seeking a Counselor in Anaheim to support the Adult Rehabilitation Program. You will manage program staff, provide counseling and education to beneficiaries, and promote effective performance within a caring, faith-based environment.

Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, development of rehabilitation plans, and collaboration with a Chaplain as needed. A strong commitment to ARC mission and active Christian worldview are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or bachelor's degree with 1+ year experience in substance abuse field.
• 1 year experience teaching or presenting material on rehabilitation from addiction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and ability to learn additional software.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and utilize community volunteers effectively.
• Attend weekly program meetings for communication and team support.
• Oversee intake operations and ensure ARC standards are followed.
• Maintain counseling records and progress notes for beneficiaries.
• Provide individual and group counseling and develop rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver Christian education classes and lead groups or classes.
